Gerald Manning, serving life in prison for the murder of Vonda Lanell Harris in 1977, he may be getting some help after 31 years in prison.

There wont be a tenure hearing for Janet Davis, principal of Lincoln Elementary School, at least until the school board completes its investigation of how all schools handle their finances and credit cards.
Davis was suspended last month accused of using the schools credit card for personal expenses and signing the school secretarys name on some checks to pay for school related purchases.

Jackie Slack, city of Monroe contract administrator, was back in court Tuesday, claiming that the city cut her pay by $10,023 in punishment for her damaging testimony about dirty tricks the Mayo administration played against a Black contractor who submitted the low bid for construction of the new regional airport terminal.
