On July 1, 1999, the McCook Daily Gazette began publishing an online edition at www.mccookgazette.com.
The Web site has undergone several upgrades over the past four years and on Wednesday, will again appear in an updated, user friendly version.
Links to weather, national sports scores and rankings, television listings and movies are easy to find, making the site more user friendly. The site still features local news updated Monday through Friday, community news, including weddings, engagements and new babies, obituaries and local sports stories. Site technicians also are working to provide classified advertising online.
With an average of 900 visitors per day, the Web site serves as a daily connection to events in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. Guest book entries from across the globe, from former residents and those serving in the military, show the high level of interest in the online format.
The site will remain at www.mccookgazette.com, but current online readers should replace the bookmark for the site so that it connects to the current provider’s address.
